My role in media is a creator and consumer, I put out content of my own and learn from others who do so similarly. I have been sharing art since middle school, doing so has made a visual journal for myself to see how I have progressed. I check Instagram almost everyday, but I have learned to limit my time on the app. Too much of anything is harmful, and excessive time spent on social media can impact our standards and expectations of other people.
For my identity, I associate with what has stuck with me long term. Even though I was born in India, I have lived in New Jersey for the majority of my life and officially an American citizen. The artwork I showcase is what I consider part of my identity, despite it being a part of imagery as well. My culture envelopes both imagery and identity, giving me a sense of self.
